10.06.2022 - City Council MinutesCity of Clermont MINUTES CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING October 6, 2022 CALL TO ORDER The City Council met in a special meeting on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in the Clermont City Council Chambers. Mayor Murry called the Special Meeting to order at 1:00 pm with the following Council Members present: Council Members Pines, Entsuah, Bates, and Purvis. Other City officials present were City Manager Bulthuis and City Clerk Howe. AGENDA ITEMS 1. Resolution No. 2022-037R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT CONFIRMING, ADOPTING AND EXTENDING THE DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY DECLARED BY RESOLUTION NO. 2022-034R RELATED TO HURRICANE IAN AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. City Clerk Howe read the title aloud. City Manager Bulthuis stated that pursuant to state law, the Governor declared an executive order State of Emergency for Hurricane Ian. Mayor Murry executed a State of Emergency for the City of Clermont. The City Council would need to take action to extend the State of Emergency to be eligible to receive funds from FEMA while cleaning up debris caused by the storm. If the declaration would need to be extended further, the Mayor would have the power to execute the document without a Council meeting. Mayor Murry opened the public hearing. There were no comments. Mayor Murry closed the public hearing. Council Member Bates moved to approve Resolution 2022-037R. seconded by Council Member Pines. Passed unanimously 5-0 with all members present voicing aye.
