CODE ENFORCEMENT HEARING
November 19, 2019
The City of Clermont Code Enforcement Hearing for November 19, 2019, took place in the
Clermont City Center beginning at 1:30 p.m. with Special Magistrate, Andrew Lanius, presiding
over the hearing. Also attending were Matthew Reusch, Code Enforcement Supervisor,
Katherine Neill, Code Enforcement Officer, Dan Mantzaris, City Attorney, Curt Henschel,
Development Services Director, John Kruse, Senior Planner, and Rosalee Cohen, Administrative
Assistant.
Code Enforcement Officer Reusch and Neill, along with any of the public who may testify, was
sworn in.
Case Number: CEB 07-358 Respondent: James Pool
City Attorney Dan Mantzaris presented the case.
The Respondent was present and was sworn in.
James Pool stated that he thought this issue was taken care of and he just received notice
yesterday about the meeting.
Mr. Mantzaris stated that the property is currently in compliance.
Disposition: Authorize to foreclose.

Mark Grenier, Building Official, stated that the roof sustained damage to the main trusses. He
stated that one of the statements in the engineers report said that this matter needed to be
attended to immediately.
City Attorney Dan Mantzaris stated that the owner of the property has applied for a permit.
James Rothrock, Engineer, stated that they are just waiting for approval of modifications to the
plans and final inspections.
Disposition: In violation of IPMC Section 108.1.1 Unsafe structure, IPMC Section Unsafe
structures and equipment, with a fine of $250 per day for every day in violation after December
23, 2019.

Code Enforcement Officer Reusch presented the case.
The Respondent was present and sworn in.
Brian Hawthorn, Fire inspector, stated that the automatic locks put on the exit doors were not
permitted.
James Beckoncourt, Respondent representative, stated that they submitted the permits and they
are waiting on approval. He stated that he is asking for 30 days to comply.
Disposition: In violation of Section 702.1 Means of Egress, Section 122-344 Building permit
required, Florida Fire Prevention Code 101, 13.2.2.2.6 & 101, 7.2.1.6.2, with a fine of $250 per
day for every day in violation past December 20, 2020.
