Proclamation #2023-012PP'ROCLA.T4AVO.N 2023-012, Whereas, the City of Clermont and our community have great admiration and the utmost gratitude for all the men and women who have, and are, selflessly serving their country and this community in the Armed Forces; and Whereas, Veterans have paid the high price of freedom by leaving their families and communities and placing themselves in harm's way for the good of all; and Whereas, the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who served the Armed Forces have been vital in maintaining the freedoms and way of life enjoyed by our citizens; and Whereas, citizens of our country have received the Purple Heart Medal as a result of being wounded or killed while engaged in combat with an enemy force, construed as a singularly meritorious act of essential service; and Whereas, the City of Clermont seeks to remember and recognize veterans who are recipients of the Purple Heart Medal; and Naw, 'Therefore, I, Tim Murry, Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida, do hereby proclaim the City of Clermont to be a: PurpCe 3II-eart City Witness Whereof f, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Clermont to be affixed this 27th Day of June in the year Two Thousand and Twenty Three. On behalf of our Purple Heart Chapter in Beautiful Lakeland, Florida. I accept your proclamation, to become a Purple Heart City. I am very honored to stand here and to receive this Document from you. We are very humbled by your Support of our Organization and the work we are doing in this community. I am very grateful for the wording of the proclamation, that acknowledges the sacrifices made by the Combat Wounded Veteran here in the City of Clermont, and Lake County, Florida. I feel personally honored to be a part of the Historic Event. We will take all necessary action to have your City placed on the National Register as a Purple Heart City.
