Proclamation #2023-025PPROC.LAMAVOJV 2023 °2s° Whereas, the City of Clermont, Florida celebrates local small businesses and the contributions they make to our local economy and community; and Whereas, according to the United States Small Business Administration, there are 33.2 million small businesses in the United States, they represent 99.7 percent of firms with paid employees, and they are responsible for 62.7 percent of net new jobs created since 1995; and Whereas, 68 cents of every dollar spent at a small business in the United States stays in the local community and every dollar spent at a local business creates an additional 48 cents in local business activity; and Whereas, 72 percent of consumers reported that Small Business Saturday 2022 made them want to shop and dine at small, independently -owned retailers and restaurants all year long; and Whereas, the City of Clermont supports our local businesses that create jobs, boost the local economy, and preserve our community. NOW, Therefore, I, Tim Murry, Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida, do hereby proclaim Saturday, November 25, Two Thousand and Twenty Three as: Small Business Saturday In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Clermont to be affixed this 17th Day of November in the year Two Thousand and Twenty Three.
