COOPER MEMORIAL LIBRARY AUCTION Council Member Huff reported that the library auction would be held on Saturday, October 25, 1986 and urged everyone to support this activity. City Manager Saunders asked if anyone objected to donating the remaining Centennial Plates to the auction? It was the consensus of Council to donate the plates to the library. ABANDONED RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY City Manager Saunders explained that the City's last offer to CSX Systems was for $122,500 for all of the right-of-way, excluding the section from East Avenue to the Minneola City Limits, the American Aluminum Section and the McCaffrey parcel. CSX Systems countered by offering to sell the right-of-way for $122,500 excluding those parcels mentioned in the City's offer and excluding the Bell Ceramics and the CBS sections, as well as a small triangular segment adjacent to the depot. A map was presented by the City Manager for viewing, and he explained that the CBS section was important, not only for the proposed sewer interceptor line, but also for possible future expansion of the City Garage and access to the residential lots to the west. The Bell Ceramics section is needed mainly for the sewer line and they have indicated their deal with CSX would include an easement for this line.
