A meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment was held in
the Council Chambers on Friday, July 7, 1967, to consider an
application from the Tweed~e Oil Company for a variance of
the front yard set back requirements of the Zoning Code whereby
they will be permitted to install a canopy over existing gasoline
pumps located at 511 Highway "50", the same being zoned as a
T-C zone. This application was rejected by the Building
Inspecte~~ due to set back requirements.
Members of the Board present were: Messrs. William Boyd,
Charles (Buddy) Keene and Max Judy. Others present were:
Messrs. J. Wingo, M. Ruggieri, W. L. Tweedle and C. Welborn
Daniel, legal representative for the applicant.
Mr. Boyd, presiding as temporary chairman, opened the
meeting at 1:30 P. M.
Attorney Daniel presented reasons for the applicant's
request for the canopy, and following a further discussion,
a motion was made by Mr. Keene, seconded by Mr. Boyd that the
request for the variance be granted and the building permit
be issued. Upon roll call vote the result was Ay.ess Keene and
Boyd. Nayes: Judy. The motion carried.
