WORKSHOP MEETING
June 18, 1985
A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held on Tuesday, June 18, 1985 in the City Hall Conference Room.
The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pool at 7:00 p.m with
the following Council Members in attendance: Council Member Huff,
Council Member Henry, Council Member Cole, and Council Member
Turville. City Manager Saunders and Planning and Zoning Chairman
Sergent were also present.
The purpose of this meeting was to view the presentation of a
proposal for a Mobile Home Park to be located northeast of Grand
Highway on property owned by John Adams.
Pete Bell and Ron Burchfield of R.H. Wilson and Associates Engineers
presented the Council with economic impact figures comparing mobile
homes to conventionally built homes. A slide presentation was also
given which illustrated the type of development they are proposing.
Mr. Bell explained that they propose to request annexation of approx-
imately 140 acres and simultaneously request a Planned Unit Develop-
ment for the entire project.
Mr. Adams, owner of the property, stated that the development would
be in five stages, with the first stage involving 130 units units,
plus amenities.
Council Members and Staff explained their concerns over such a
project. Current sewage capacities were discussed and it was
emphasized that the current treatment plant expansion project is
designed to serve 1550 additional units. By annexing this property
and allowing 630 units, approximately 40% of the capacity would be'
utilized.
After some further discussion, it was explained that the Council
could not vote or offer approval or disapproval of the project at
at this time. A Workshop Meeting was strictly for fact finding.
There being no further discussion, the meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
