CASE NO. 00-01
.. Reuben Jamison
P.O. Box 120775
Clermont, FL 34712
LOCATION OF VIOLATION: 907 Scott Street
VIOLATION: City of Clermont Code of Ordinances, Chapter 34, Section 34-95
Code Enforcement Officer Jones explained that the car, which has no motor, has been
parked on the property for some time. Staff recommends that the owner or heir of the
property, as Mr. Jamison is deceased, be given until April 30, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. to remove
the inoperable vehicle. Should the defendant fail to comply, Staff recommends that a fine
of $25 per day be imposed until the violation has been cleared. Upon clearing the violation,
the defendant(s) be given ten (10) days to pay any fine imposed or a lien be placed on the
property.
Discussion followed regarding the fact that someone is accepting mail for Mr. Jamison
and someone is living in the residence. Code Enforcement Officer Jones stated that
whoever signed the green card would probably be caretaker of the property. City
Attorney Guthrie suggested that Jeff Jones determine if the estate is in probate or not.
If there is a representative of the estate that person should be served regarding this
matter.
A motion was made by Board Member Atwater that the defendant be given until April
30, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. to remove the inoperable vehicle. Should the defendant fail to
comply, Staff recommends that a fine of $25 per day be imposed until the violation has
been cleared. Upon clearing the violation, the defendant(s) be given ten (10) days to
pay any fine imposed or a lien be placed on the property. Joe Janusiak seconded the
motion and it was unanimously approved.
