for an extension of time to comply with the Order issued last
month. Mr. Baird explained that no action could be taken against
Mr. Morris because thirty (30) days had not expired since the
Order was issued, but that the Board could act on the request for
extension.
After a brief discussion a motion was made by Mr. McKinney,
seconded by Mr. Wiebush and carried by unanimous vote TO GRANT AN

86-005. City of Clermont vs. Don Coxe dba Chain-O-Lakes Auto

issued no action could be taken at this time. Mr. Baird
suggested that Board members keep an eye on this business, since
the Board has the statutory authority to levy a fine for each day
of violation.
HEARING N0. 86-006. CITY OF CLERMONT vs. CLERMONT ASSEMBLY OF
GOD. Mr. Saunders, after being sworn in, stated that the
Assembly of God had installed a second sign on their site without
obtaining a permit. An attempt had been made to secure a permit
following notification, but no specifications had been submitted
so a permit was not granted. When the sign was measured by the
Director of Code Enforcement it was determined to be larger than
the maximum area permitted by the Sign Ordinance. The City
Manager suggested that the church be given until May 16 to comply.
Under oath, Pastor Lester Richardson of the Assembly of God
stated that he thought the sign was within proper size limits,
but agreed that he hadn't measured it according to the Code. He
further stated that he wanted to have a nicer sign, and had taken
down a portion of the existing sign to bring it into compliance.
A motion was made by Mr. McKinney, seconded by Mr. Wright and
approved by unanimous vote THAT THE ASSEMBLY OF GOD BE GIVEN
UNTIL 5:00 p.m. FRIDAY, MAY 16, 1986 TO OBTAIN A PROPER PERMIT
FOR THE SIGN.
