Members in attendance were Emma Higgins, Bill McGuire, Marvin Styles and Joe Wiebush. Also attending were City Attorney Leonard Baird and Planning and Zoning Technician Marilyn George. Absent members were William McKinney, Don Smith and Mary Wright. MINUTES of the meeting held November 20, 1984 were approved as presented. HEARING No. 85-001. City of Clermont vs. John Boyett. Mr. Baird explained that Mr. Boyett had been given 90 days to dispose of the many birds he kept on his property at 1211 Bloxam Avenue. The 90 days have expired and the birds are still there. Under oath, Mr. Boyett stated that he had made arrangements to dispose of the birds, and that it was taking longer than he had planned. He explained that he had given most of them away, and that pens were under construction to hold the birds. He stated that two weeks would probably be long enough to comply. A motion was made by Mr. Styles and seconded by Mr. Wiebush THAT ALL BIRDS BE REMOVED FROM MR. BOYETTE'S PROPERTY WITHIN TWO WEEKS. FAILURE TO COMPLY WOULD RESULT IN A FINE. Mr. John Lyons was sworn in and stated that there were exotic birds all over town and that he was upset by Mr. Boyett's treatment. He was told that specific complaints about exotic birds would have to be made. After a brief discussion about the amount of the fine to be levied it was decided to take that action at another meeting. The motion passed by unanimous vote. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m. 1-' ~ H A for William McGuire, Ch irman William McKinney, Vice Chairman ATTEST Marilyn Gr/Gorge' P & Z~echnician
