WORKSHOP MEETING
April 19, 1985
A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held on Friday, April 19, 1985 in the City Hall Conference Room.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pool at 10:30 a.m. with
the following Council Members in attendance: Council Member Huff
and Council Member Turville. Finance Director Saunders was also
present.
Pete Bell, representing Adams Development Company, was present to
explain conceptual development plans for an area located northeast
of and adjacent to the present City Limits. The plans included a
three phase mobile home park consisting of 630 units. He stated
that the development plans were for a ten year period, with Phase I
consisting of approximately 130 units.
Continuing with the presentation, he explained that the density for
the development would be 5-6 units per acre. The mobile homes would
be altered to have conventional pitched roofs and be set on slabs at
grade so as to look like conventional homes. The development company
plans to lease the sites and sell the homes, and would also include
recreation facilities and a shopping center.
The Council Members and Mr. Bell discussed the development plans at
length. It was pointed out that the City's Planned Use for that
property was R-l Residential. The Council asked Mr. Bell to look
at the alternative of Single Family R-l development and provide the
Council with comparative data on the economic impact to the City of
his conceptual plan versus the R-l development.
Mr. Bell expressed his desire for a good working relationship with
the City. He stated that he would like to meet with the Council
after he had looked at the alternatives and obtained the data
requested by Council.
There being no further discussion, the meeting adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
