02-25-1985 Workshop Meeting . . CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES WORKSHOP MEETING February 25, 1985 A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Monday, February 25, 1985 in the City Hall Conference Room. The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Pool with the following Council Members in attendance: Council Member Henry, Council Member Turville, Council Member Cole and Council Member Huff. City Manager Forbes also was present. Mayor Pool explained that the purpose of this Workshop was to begin reviewing the Sanitary Sewer, Potable Water, Drainage, and Solid Waste Element of the Comprehensive Plan. WATER SYSTEM The section on the Water System was carefully reviewed page by page, and it was explained that the current water distribution system is in excellent condition for the existing City Limits. However, as the City population grows to 9,000, another well should be added. It was discussed in detail that no water system planning has been conducted for areas outside the present City Limits and that this should be done in the near future. At the suggestion of Council Member Turville, it was decided to amend Section III [E] on page 7-4 as follows: liThe City should encourage water conservation practices by its residents, by altering its rates and instructing people in water conservation". SEWER SYSTEM Council Members carefully reviewed each page of the Sewer System section. There was considerable discussion on "grey water" systems and the possibility of requiring them as the City grows. It was also discussed that a grey water system, while greatly reducing the flow to the treatment plant, could have a negative impact on the treatability of the waste at the plant since a certain amount of water is needed in the treatment process. The problem of upgrading Lift Stations due to City growth also was discussed. The City's expansion of the treatment plant to one million gallons per day is estimated to be able to serve the existing City Limits until all available land is built out. This assumes no major rezonings. Any property not now in the City Limits will require an interceptor line and lift station to bring the sewage to the plant. Our existing sewer distribution system cannot handle any extra capacity outside of the City Limits. There was much discussion on lift stations, impellers, and long term growth of the City. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. ~o~ Robert A. Pool, Mayor Attest: -:- "1 ( .~ ,:r" FORM 4 rwMORANDUM OF VO.G CONFLICT , I LAST NAME-FIRST NAME-MIDDLE NAME -, Robert A.
