MINUTES
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
July 1, 1986
The regular scheduled meeting of the Planning and Zoning
Commission was called to order on Tuesday July 1, 1986 at
7:30p.m. by Chairman John N. Sargent. Those present were Kathy
Bloebaum, Adelbert Evans, Debbie Gaines, Buddy Rogers, Jack
Sargent, Cecil Smart and Don Smith. Absent were Marie McKinney
and Bob Thompson.
MINUTES of the meeting of May 6, were erroneouly omitted from the
Planning and Zonning packets.
A motion was made by Mr. Evans, seconded by Buddy Rogers and
unanimously carried that acceptance of the minutes be delayed
until they could be reviewed by the board.
NEW BUSINESS Chariman Jack Sargent opened for discussion the
proposed new R-3-A zone and other proposed changes to the Zoning
Ordinance. At this time Mr. Sargent stated the thought behind
creating a zone between R-2 and R-3 would be to allow the density
to be decreased from 12 units per acre to 8 units per acre, and
it would not impose the same restriction when applying it as if
it if were a R-2.
The City Planner, Dean Perlick stated at this time the R-3-A
concept was brought about to accommedate persona having property
in the R-3 zone that was changed to R-2, and to bring these
properties into compliance with the Comprehensive Plan.
After much discussion the board requested that the staff present
a detailed outline for the new proposed acne and that a separate
workshop should be scheduled for July 29, 1986.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
9:30p.m.
