FIRST PUBLIC HEARING -FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008 BUDGET
The Clermont City Council met in a special meeting on Thursday, September 6, 2007 in the Council Chambers at
City Hall. Mayor Hal Turville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with the following Council Members present:
Council Members Mullins, Goodgame, and Hogan. Other City officials present were: City Manager Saunders,
Administrative Services Director Van Zile, and City Clerk Ackroyd. Council Member Berlinsky was not present.
Mayor Turville explained the process.
City Manager Saunders announced the proposed millage rate represents a 7.01% decrease from the rollback rate.
Resolution No. 1535 Tentative Ad Valorem Millage Rate of 3.142 for the 2007-2008 Fiscal Year
Mayor Turville read Resolution 1535 aloud by title.
A Resolution of the City of Clermont of Lake County, Florida, establishing an ad valorem millage
rate for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2007, and ending September 30, 2008; providing for
collection of taxes; providing an effective date.
Administrative Services Director Van Zile read Resolution 1535 aloud in its entirety.
Mayor Turville opened the public hearing.
Dharmendar Roopchand, 3125 Tobago Avenue, inquired about payment of tax bill.
Mary Priebe, 1401 W Hwy 50 #226 -Emerald Lakes, questioned her tax bill.
Mayor Turville closed the public hearing.
Council Member Goodgame moved tentative adoption of Resolution 1535 subject to hearing on
September 13 2007• seconded by Council Member Mullins. The motion passed with all members
present voting-"aye".
Resolution No. 1536 Tentative Budget Resolution for the 2007-2008 Fiscal Year
Pvlayor Turville read Resolution 1536 aloud by title only.
A Resolution of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, adopting the budget for the 2007-2008
Fiscal Year.
Mayor Turville opened the public hearing.
There were no comments.
Mayor Turville closed the public hearing.
Council Member Goodgame moved tentative adoption of Resolution 1536 subject to hearing on
September 13, 2007; seconded by Council Member Mullins The motion passed with all members
present voting "aye".
City Manager Saunders reported on the status of the Florida Forever Grant for the Inland Groves property. Out
of 118 applications, our application came in at number 5 with receiving 175 points.
ADJOURN: With no further comments, the meeting was adjourned at 7:36pm
