06-18-1991 Special Meeting® • CITYOF CLERMONT MINUTES SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 18, 1991 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Tuesday, June 18, 1991, in the City Hall Conference Room. Mayor Pool called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the following Council Members in attendance: Mayor Pro Tem Turville, Council Member Cole, and Council Member Norquist. Other City Officials present were City Manager Saunders and City Attorney Baird. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT City Manager Saunders explained that the purpose of this meeting was to approve the Contract with the State of Florida for the Community Development Block Grant. The contract must be returned to the State no later than June 24, 1991. After a brief review of the Block Grant Program, Mayor Pool then asked the City Attorney if he had reviewed the contract. Mr. Baird stated that he had done so and found it to be in order. 91-110 A MOTION WAS MADE BY COUNCIL MEMBER TURVILLE. SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER COLE, AND CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY TO ENTER INTO THE BLOCK GRANT AGREEMENT. CRACKED SIDEAALR COMPLAINTS Council Member Turville stated that he had received some complaints concerning cracked sidewalks and requested that the Council consider placing money in next year's budget for sidewalk repairs and that a list be formulated of the sidewalks needing repair. PALATLARAHA RECREATION AREA LIGHTS Following this some discussion ensued concerning the lights at the Palatlakaha Recreation Area. It was indicated that a key for the lights should be left with the Police Department. Mayor Pool indicated that "No Parking" signs should be installed in front of the drive through gates at Jaycee Beach for vehicles that need to get in and out, as well as emergency vehicles. It was the consensus of Council that the key to the gate should also be provided to the Police Department. City Manager Saunders indicated to Council that the Police Department already had keys for the gates, and that the City would proceed immediately with the installation of the "No Parking" signs in front of the gates. GAS TRUCK PARKED IN RESIDENTIAL AREA Mayor Pool stated that he had observed a large gas truck parked in a residential area on Fourth Street. City Manager Saunders stated that he would refer this matter to the Code Enforcement Officer for immediate attention. The City has an ordinance which prohibits commercial vehicle parking in residential areas. There being no further discussion p.m. Attest: h E. As property owner, I asked for an amendment to my ,existing Conditional Use Permit for the property I own at 490 West Avenue.
