11-07-1990 Special Meeting1 1 CITYOF CLERMONT MINUSES SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING NOVEMBER 7, 1990 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Wednesday, November 7, 1990, in the City Hall Conference Room. The meeting was called to order at 8:35 p.m. by Mayor Pro Tem Turville with the following Council Members in attendance: Council Member Cole, Council Member Norquist and Council Member Dupee. Other City Officials present were City Manager Saunders, City Attorney Baird, Finance Director Van Zile and Deputy City Clerk Brandt. It was explained that the purpose of this meeting was to canvass the ballot of the General Election held November 7, 1990. Finance Director Van Zile in his capacity as City Clerk read the totals of the vote from the Supervisor of Elections office. The results of the election are as follows: COUNCIL MEMBER GROUP V Lester Cole 934 Mark Edwards 674 90-239 A MOTION WAS MADE BY COUNCIL MEMBER DUPEE. SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER NOROUIST AND UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED THAT THE CERTIFICATE OF RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD TUESDAY. NOVEMBER 7. 1990, BE ACCEPTED AND TO DECLARE LESTER COLE ELECTED TO COUNCIL SEAT GROUP V. A brief discussion ensued concerning the City's requirement to hold this meeting. City Attorney Baird stated that he would be reviewing the election law requirements in order to determine changes required to Chapter 7 of the City's Code of Ordinances regarding elections in order to make the chapter compatible with the State of Florida Election Laws.
