1963-02AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, made this 30th day of July ,1963, by and
between Jack Sharpe's Inc of Orlando, Florida, Party of the First Part,
and the City of Clermont, Florida., a municipal Corporation of. the State
of Florida Party of the Second Part.
WITNESSETH:
That in consideration of the mutual covenants herein con-
tained it is agreed as follows
1. That party of the First Part agrees to completely recond-
ition Party of the Second Part's two (2) elevated water storage tanks &
towers in said City of Clermont as follows; and in accordance With A.W.
W.A.. specifications D10l-53 and DI02-55T, or latest revisions thereof.
50,000 Gal. Tank:
Repair
Replace catwalk support rods with new 1" round iron lugs
bolts and nuts, also 3/16" floor plate deck, flush welded to angle stri-
ngers
Separate roof seams, clean, rebolt and/or weld also cut a-
way badly rusted roof eave (approx. 6").
Furnish and install 18" roof vent (replacing present finale
ball), and recondition and remodel roof ladder to accommodate aforemen-
tioned vent, ,and install securing device.
Separate roof ladder from tank ladder and secure same to side
wall of tank wt. 6-4" x 5/16" brackets butt welded to ladder runners
Repack and adjust expansion joint, replacing section of riser
extending througn expansion joint, if condition warrants same.
Furnish and install roof angle, replacement of 3/8" x 3" steel
plate cut on proper radius and welded continualy to side wall of tank
2" below present deteriorated roof angle, then remove present deteriorated
roof angle.
Furnish and install 14-:3/8" x 6" gussets welded to aforemen-
tioned roof angle replacement and tank wall, equally spaced
Furnish and install 3/8" wedge gussets welded to roof angle
replacement and roof on approximately 3 ft. centers, to secure roof, re-
placing deteriorated and missing holddown.bolts
Furnish and install 14 3/4" round iron spider rods threaded
one end and spider rod disc of 3/8" plate with 3/8" x 3" flange having
14 7/8" holes equally spaced for receiving spider rods, 14 3/4" nuts for
adjusting rods, rods to be lapped 2" on new roof angel wt. 1/2" fillet
continuous
Cut accessway in eave of roof in line with tank ladder and
install 3/4" round iron safety ring
Furnish and install complete telltale assembly with cable
guides and conical plastic float
Furnish and install 4" gate valve in bowl of tank accessible
from catwalk, with 4" pipe extending from valve to 3 ft beyond ladder leg
Furnish and install standard pressed steel manhole in bowl of
tank near riser and accessible from catwalk.
Furnish and install inside tank, ladder fabricated of 5/16" x
2" runners, 12" wide wt. 3/4" round iron rungs on 12" center, secured to
side wall wt. 6-3/8" x 4" x 6" cleats, welded.
Any additional repair, replacements, welding of seams, rivets,
or pits necessary to put tank and tower in first class condition so as
to warrant the maintenance portion of this Agreement
Cleaning & Painting:
Interior
Sandblast entire interior of tank including all appurtenances
to bare grey metal, removing all rust and foreign matter
Furnish and apply three (3) coats of Quigley's # 111 to entire
interior of tank, including all appurtenances.
Exterior
Sandblast entire exterior of tank and tower to bare grey
metal, removing all rust and foreign matter
Furnish and apply one (1) coat of primer and two (2) coats
of aluminum to entire exterior of tank and tower.
100,000 Gal Tank:
Repair '
Weld column ladder brackets to ladder runners and column,
continuously.
Furnish and install 4" gate valve in bowl of tank near riser
accessible from catwalks with 4" pipe extending from valve to 3 ft be-
yond ladder column.
Separate roof ladder from tank ladder, install securing de-
vice for roof ladder, furnish and install 6 3/8" x 4" x 6" tank ladder
securing brackets, welded to tank wall, and butt welded to ladder runners
Cleaning & Painting:
Interior. .
Sandblast entire interior and all appurtenances to bare grey
metal, removing all rust, paint and foreign matter. ,
Furnish ,and apply three (3) coats ot Quigley's # 111 to entire
interior, including all appurtenances.
Exterior:
Sandblast balcony floor and 2 ft. of side wall above balcony
floor complete to bare grey metal, .removing all. rust, paint and foreign
matter.
spot sandblast remainder of tank and tower, removing all rust
loose paint and foreign matter.
Spot prime all bare metal.
Spot paint all primed area with one (1) coat of aluminum and
then paint entire exterior of tank and tower

Roylac aluminum # 9421
Royston Vinachrome primer # A-900
Quigley's # 111, Brown & Black
Procedure:
Sandblasted area to be primed each day while thoroughly clean
and dry. All primer and paints to be applied as directed by manufacturer...
Current for electric tools, chlorine and water for steriliz-
ation in compliance with Florida State Board of Health regulations to be
furnished by Party of the Second Part.
And to maintain the. interior and exterior of Party of the
Second Part's elevated water storage tanks and towers in said City ser-
viced as herein outlined, for a period of twelve (12) years, from date
of this Agreement
2: Party of the First Part further agrees that he will in-
spect said tanks and towers, annually, and will keep the interior of tanks
free of excessive foreign matter and properly flushed.
3: That during the period of this Agreement, Party of the
Second Part has the responsibility of keeping the telltale devices and
expansion joints properly adjusted
4: Party of the First Part hereby agrees to take care of all
maintenance of said tanks and towers, including all steel and, other
materials necessary for said maintenance, except as herein otherwise
provided; and except from damage by Acts of God, Wind, Airplane, Sett-
lIng of Foundations, Accident, or Vandalism
5: Party of the First Part agrees to paint said tanks and
towers during the fourth, eighth, and twelfth year of this Agreement
after removlng any and all rust, priming bare surface, and spot painting
primed surface Such painting to cover interior of tanks and exterior of
tanks and towers
6 Party of the Second Part hereby agrees to pay Party of the
First Part the sum of, one thousand nine hundred five dollars and fifty
cent ($1,905.50) upon completion of reconditioning as set forth in para~
graph one, and one thousand nine hundred five dollars and fifty cent
($ l,.905.50) per year for the term of this contract for services and
material as herein provided. Said payments. to be made upon receipt.of
annual reports, as outlined in paragraph 2
7Party of theFirst Part assumes no responsibility whatever
for any damages, either personal injury or property injury sustained by
anyone while in, on or around said tanks and towers, other than damages
caused by employees of Party of. the First Part, while said employees are
actually on the job performing services under this contract, as herein
before outlined. While such stated services are being performed Party of
the First Part agrees to carry Workmans Compensation, Public Liability &
Property Damage Insurance in a minimum amount of fifty and one hundred
thousand doll.ar~ ($ 50,000.00 & $100000.00).
8: Party of the First Part agrees to do aforementioned work
under the supervisionof Party of the Second Part's authorized inspector,
to assure that all work is done in a competent and workmanlike manner
and materials are as outlined in this Agreement or approved equal.
9: This contract shall be binding upon the parties hereto and
their successors, and assigns., for the terms created hereby, and may not
be altered, cancelled, or changed except upon the mutual consent of both
parties hereto and evidenced in wrlting.
