11-17-1969 Special Meeting . e MINUTES N~ 211$ 628 SPECIAL MEETING A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held in the office of the City Clerk on Monday, November 17, 1969. The meeting was called to order hy Mayor Don E. Smith at 5:10 P.M. with the following members present: Cochran, Bratton and VanderMeer. Others present were: City Manager Johnson, City Clerk Carroll, City Attorney Langley and Chief of Police Tyndal. City Clerk Carroll reported that petitions had been filed for Councilmen for Groups Two and Four, subject to the Generll Election of the City of Clermont to be held on Tuesday, December 2, 1969, that these petitions had been thoroughly checked and were certified to be in order and that such nominating petitions were as follows: FOR COUNCILMAN - GROUP TWO: RAYMOND P. COCHRAN EUGENE T. NOWELL FOR COUNCILMAN - GROUP FOUR: GEORGE F. KARST J. M. VANDERMEER Motion was made by Councilman Bratton, seconded by Councilman Cochran and unanimously carried that all petitions were found to be in order; that the candidates be declared qualified; that the City Clerk be authorized to have the necessary ballots prepared including the Question "DO YOU FAVOR A DOG CONTROL LAW FOR THE CITY OF CLERMONT, the specific regulations of which will be decided by the City Council", for absentee voter~and that voting machines be used in the General Election being held on December 2, 1969. Motion was made by Councilman Cochran, seconded by Councilman VanderMeer and carried that the City Manager be authorized to trade the 1969 Chevrolet Police Department vehicle, which is damaged, for a new vehicle at his discretion, and to pay a sum up to $1,000.00 in addition to the trade-in.
