SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held in the office of the City Manager on Friday, December 5, 1969.
The meeting was called to order at 5:12 P. M. by Mayor Don E. Smith
with the following named Councilmen present: VanderMeer, Cochran
and Bratton. Other officials present were: City Manager Johnson,
City Clerk Carroll and Chief of Police Tyndal.
Mayor Smith stated that the first order of business was to canvass
the ballot of the General Election of the City of Clermont held on
December 2, 1969.
After checking the ballot, motion was made by Councilman Bratton
and seconded by Councilman Cochran that it be RESOLVED that the
Certificate of Result of the General Election of the City of Clermont
held on Tuesday, December 2, 1969 be accepted and the results received
into the Minutes and made a part thereof and be it further RESOLVED
in accordance with the results of the General Election
that Raymond P. Cochran be, and is hereby declared elected
to the office of Councilman, Group Two (2) for a two (2)
year term commencing on the second Tuesday in January, 1970.
and that J. M. VanderMeer be, and is hereby declared elected
to the office of Councilman, Group Four (4) for a two (2)
year term commencing on the second Tuesday in January, 1970.
and that the QUESTION, liDo you favor a dog control law for
the City of Clermont, the specific regulations of which
will be decided by the City Council" be declared, Passed.
Upon roll call vote on the RESOLUTION the result was, AYES: Cochran,
VanderMeer and Bratton. Total Ayes: 3. Nayes: None. Absent: Oswalt.
A copy of the results of the Election immediately follow these minutes
and are a part thereof and the Certificate of Result is on file in the
office of the City Clerk.
The meeting was adjourned by Mayor Smith.
