Proclamation 2025-09PTR0C.LAA-AT70j,V 2025-09P
Whereas, the City of Clermont is honored to welcome the distinguished leadership of the African
Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) 11 `' Episcopal District; and
Whereas, we celebrate the visitation of The Right Reverend Marvin C. Zander II, who, on July 10
2021, became the 1401h Elected and Consecrated Bishop and on August 28, 2024 Bishop Zander and Mrs.
Winifred H. Zanders, the AME Church Episcopal Supervisor, received the leadership oversight of the 11 `h
Episcopal District for 396 congregations, 365 pastors, and 70,758 members across the State of Florida and
the Commonwealth of the Bahamas; and
Whereas, The Right Reverend Marvin C. Zander II, first pastoral assignment was with our
neighboring town of Stuckey at St. Paul AME Church, where the church's mission extended to the
community of Clermont; and
Whereas, we recognize the esteemed presence of the Elder Milton Broomfield, Presiding Elder of
the Outstanding Orlando District of the 11" Episcopal District, and Mrs. Ronda Broomfield, Consultant,
for their continued commitment to ministry excellence and community engagement; and
Whereas, we acknowledge Reverend Denzil Brumfield Sr., Pastor of St. Mark AME Church, and
Mrs. Tizonya Brumfield, First Lady, for their faithful community service, partnerships, and leadership
within the Clermont community; and
Whereas, the visitation of the AME Church leadership to the City of Clermont signifies their
dedication to its mission of ministering to the social, spiritual, and physical development of all people and
commitment to the community programs under The AME Church's current quadrennial theme (2025-2028)
Revive Us Again: Reconnecting the AME Connection".
Whereas, this theme encourages strengthening bonds within congregations, uplifting each other,
and engaging actively with neighbors. It also emphasizes reconnecting with the roots of African
Methodism and focusing on personal renewal in faith, whose spiritual guidance and dedication continue
to strengthen faith communities around the world and across Florida and the Bahamas, especially here in
the City of Clermont at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church.

proclaim the 1 st of May, Two Thousand and Twenty -Five as:
Bishop Marvin C. Zanders, II, and Episopal Supervisor Winifred Houston-
Zanders Day.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of
Clermont to be affixed this 1 st Day of May in the year Two Thousand and Twenty -Five.
