CITY OF CLERMONT
MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held in the office
of the City Manager on Tuesday, August 15, 1978. The meeting was called to order at
5:30 P.M. by Mayor Claude E. Smoak, Jr., with the following members present: Council-
men Schroedel and Honey. Others present were: Acting City Manager Smythe, City Attorney
Baird, and City Clerk Carroll.
Mayor Smoak announced the purpose of the meeting was to consider enactment of the
proposed 78-79 fiscal year Utilities Fund Budget by emergency ordinance in order to
conform with the City's Utility Bond Covenants requiring that the budget be adopted
45 days prior to the close of the fiscal year.
Councilman Honey offered and moved the adoption of AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE UTILITIES FUND BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF
CLERMONT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1978-79; AUTHORIZING RECEIPTS AND DISBURSEMENTS CONTAINED
THEREIN; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION, and the motion was seconded by Councilman Schroedel. The Ordinance was
read by City Clerk Carroll, by title only, and upon roll call vote on passage of the
motion, the result was: Ayes: Honey, Schroedel, and Smoak. Total Ayes: Three. Nayes:
None. Absent: Cole and Byrd. So the Ordinance was adopted and the number 113-M
assigned to it.
There being no further business to be considered, the meeting was adjourned by Mayor
Smoak at 5:40 P.M.
