MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING

Waiver of Notice of Special Meeting:

We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City
Council of the City of Clermont, Florida, do hereby waive the usual
and required notice of a Special Meeting, and consent to the transaction
of such business as may regularly come before us in connection with
a proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance as outlined in a Notice
duly published of a public hearing on same to be held on this date.

A SPECIAL MEETING of the City Council of the City of Clermont
was held in the Administration Building of said city at 7:30 P. M. on
December 4, 1961 with all council members present together with
Mayor Bon Jorn, City Clerk, A. M. Johnson, City Attorney, Irving F.
Morse, and several visitors, Mr. & Mrs. John Boyette, and their daughter,
Mr. F Harley Beals, Mr. C. W. Sward and a representative of the
local press.
Chairman Bishop called the meeting to order and stated that
the first order of business was the hearing of any objections to the
proposed amendment or change in the Zoning Ordinance as advertised
in the local presson November 16, 23, 30, 1961 to change some property
in the Eastern part of the City ntfrom R -1 Residential Zone to C-1
Commercial Zone. The clerk was requested to read a copy of the Notice
as appears in the newspaper and to attach a copy of same to these minutes
which would then become a paft thereof as if fully set forth in these minutes.
The Notice was read and thereupon Mr. Bishop asked if there
were any objections to the amendment of the Zoning MaJD. There being no
objections he then advised the Council and all members present that
the Council would have to act upon the recommendations of the Zoning
Commission, and he declared the Hearing closed and the Council would
now come to order under waiver of notice of a special meeting.

Thereupon Mr. Turville offerrd for adoption a Resolution
accepting the recommendations of the Zoning Commission and directing
the drafting of an Ordinance to amend the Zoning Map in accordance with
the notice of hearing and resolution. The motion on the resolution was
seconded by Mr. Boyd and when put to a vote was unanimously,adop!ed.l..
Motion by Mr. Turville, seconded by Mr. Boyd that a consideration
of the amendment of the Fire-l:imits of the City be duly considered and when
changed that this pvoperty now re -zoned be included in a Fire Limis Area.
When put to a vote the motion was unanimously f:Jassed.
Motion by Mr. York, second by Mr. Turville that the meeting
adjourn. Motion was unanimously passed.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, after a public and published hearing held on November
13. 1961, the Zoning Commission of the City of Clermont, Lake County,
Florida, recommended to the Council of said City~hat the Zoning Map
of said City be amended, thereby changing the following described property
from an R -1 Residential Zone toa C -1 Commercial Zone:
All lands lying South of Highland Avenue. North of
State Road 50; East of Scott Street and West of
Bloxam Avenue; and,
. LOts 254; 255, 256, 271-273, iRc!., 294-297; incl.,
and Fractional Lots 255, 2::0 and 298" Clermont
Heights, lying North of State Road 50, .
ALL in the City of Clermont, Florida.
WHEREAS, on December 4, 1961, after public and published notice"
the said Council held a plJlblic hearing on the recommendations of said
Zoning Commission, and thereafter decided to accept and adopt said
Commission's recommendations.;t'herefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE @lTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, Ji'J-.ORI9A:
That the recommendations of the Zoning Commission of the City of
Clermont to amend the Zoning Map of said City whereby the above described
property be removed from an R -1 Residential Zone and placed in a C-1
Commercial Zone" be accepted.
That an Ordinance be prepared for passage pUtting into .immediate
effect the recommendations of said Commission, now accepted and approved
by this Council.
