SPECIAL MEETING

A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont
was held in the office of the City Clerk on Thur sday, September
15, 1960.
The meeting was called to order by Council chairman G. Y.
Middleton at 3 :45 P. M. with the following members present:
Roe, Christensen and Middleton. Others present were Mayor
Bonjorn, City attorney Morse, Clerk Johnson and Dr. Howard,
actuary for the City of Clermont in the development of a
employee pension plan.
Chairman Middleton stated that the purpose of the meetillE;
was to oonsider the oonveyance of certain street rightofWay
to a subdlv ision developer and other suoh busine ss as may come
before the meeting.
Motion was made by Roe, seconded.y Christensen and carried
that the city oonvey without charge to Mr. Cody Johnson
the fOllowing described property: Begin at SE oorner of the
intersection of of Minnehaha avenue and West avenue as
represented on the official map of the City of Clermont,
filed 2/4/2b and recorded in Plat Book 8, pages 17 to 23,
inclusive, Public Records of Lake County, Florida, and run
East and parallel to the North Boundary of said Sf of Government lot
4 of said Section 25, Township 22 South, Range 25 East, a distance of
340 feet; thence North 50 feet; thence We at 340 feet to the East
Boundary of the interseotion of Minnehaha Avenue and West
Avenue; thence South 50 feet to the Point of beginning.
It being understood, hOtqever, that such property is not to be
oonveyed to Mr. Cody Johnson unt 11 a plat of the proposed
subdivision incompassing such property has been platted and
such plat sudmitted to the City Council and approved by them
and all other terms of the Subd1v1sion ordinance comp11ed with.
Dr. Howard spoke to the Counc il regarding the proposed employee
pension plan after which a general discussion of the matter
followed. Mr. Roe stated that after making further study of
the plan and having received additional 1nformation he was of
the opin10n that it would be more practical and eoonomical for
the 0 ity to pay the entire cost of the plan and that he
therefore moved that his motion of the preceeding Council meeting
held September 6, 1960 be rescinded and that a noncontributory
employee pens10n plan for oity employees be authorized and that
Dr. Howard proceed with the preparation of specif1cations for
such a plan. The motion was seconded by Mr. Christensen and
carried.

Dr. Howard was authorized and directed to submit pension plan
specifications to Mr. F. B. Kreider, Mr. RiohaDd Abrahams, Mr.
R. R. Rogers, Mr. CalVin Crawley, Meeker Insurance, Olivenbaum
Insurance Agency, all being local agents, the three Trust
Companies located in lake County and any other Insurance
Companies which he may desire.
The matter of the necessity for an It'ireman Retirement Plan
Ordinance was discussed and City attorney Morse advised hhat
he would prepare such an Ordinance as soon as possible.
