MINUTES OF BOAED OF EQUALIZATION MEETING

A meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont, sitting
as a Board of Equalization, was held in the office of the
City Clerk on Tuesday, August 23, 1960.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by chairman
G. Y. Middleton wit~ all members being present. Mayor
Bonjorn, City attorney Morse, Clerk Johnson and filr. Jack
Childress of Hunnicutt and Associates, appraisers for the
City of Clermont, were also present.
The following tax payers appeared before the Board in person:
Mr. John Loesoh protested the appraised value of his
residence. Board Action: reduced to $12,800.00.
Mr. E. W. Kyle protested the appraised value of his
residence. Board action: no reduotion.
Mr. Ernest Lawton protested the appraised value of his
residence. Board action: no reduction.
Mr. Pompfrey of Lake Highlands Hotel protested the
appraised value of Lake Highlands hotel.
Board aotion: reduced to 37,500.00.
Mr. Joseph Bonj orn prote sted the appraised value of
Business Personal property owned by Advanoe Eleotric Co.,
Board action reduced to 4,500.00
Clerk Johnson read letters from the following:
Mr. A. P. Long protesting the appraised value of a strip
of property lYing South of lot 24, Alta Vista.
Board action: reduved to 500.00.
Mr. Guy Randolph protesting the appraised value of his
residence. Board action: no reduction.
Mrs. Gertrude Reynolds protesting the appraised value ot
h~ residence. Board action: no reduction.

Mrs. Thomas Smart protesting the increased valuation of
grove property. Due to the fact that the increase was due
to partial recovery of grove from cold damage no reduction
was allowed by the Board.
Mr. warren Baker protesting the appraised value of his
residence. Due to the fact that the increase was due to
the correction of an error previously made by the Appraisers
no reduction was made by the Board.
Mrs. Herman Thomas protesting increase in appraised valuation
of residence due to addition of porch costing 300.00.
The Appraisers advised that increase was dlie not only to
addition of porch but also to the completion of the
basement into living quarters and to the addition of
an additional bath room facilities. Board action~.,c "'T~'1'
