SPECIAL MEETING

A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont
was held in the office of the City Clerk on Thursday, July 7,
1960. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 P. N. by Council
Chairman G. Y. Middleton with all members present. Mayor Bon Jorn
was also present.
Chairman Middleton stated that the purpose of the meeting was
consideration of the "letter to the Press" in the last addition
of the local paper wherein the Clermont Junior Chamber of
Commerce invited the city of Clermont to take over the operation
of the J. C. Beach.
After considerable discussion motion was made by Mr. Roe,
seconded by Mr. Christensen and carried that the president
and secretary of the Clermont Junior Chamber of Commerce be
notified by letter that in reference to their letter of invitation
in the local press, a copy of which is attached hereto, the City
Council of the City of Clermont is herewith relieving the Junior
Chamber of Commerce of all responsibility for the operation and
maintenance of the J. C. Beach and that all future operation of
said beach will be under the direct supervision of the City of
Clermont. That in the event that any removable property now
located at the J. C. Beach is owned by the Clermont Junior Chamber
of Commerce they are to have within ten days from date of notice
to remove such property.
Mr. Radosti, the present operator of the resturant located at
the J. C. Beach, appeared before the council and a future lease
for the resturant was discussed. City attorney Morse, Mr. Christensen,
chairman of the Parks committee and Mr. Radosti were requested
to prepare a lease for presentation to the City Council.
Motion by York, seconded by Bishop and carried that meeting
ad'ourn.
