REGULAR MEETING
.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Clermont was held in the office of the City Clerk on Tuesday,
March 1, 1960. The meeing was called to order at 7:30 P. M.
with all Council members present with the exception of Mr.
Midd1etoh. Other officials present were Mayor BonJorn,
Clerk Johnson, Attorney Morse, Supt. Sheldon, Inspector Snyder,
and Police Chief Tynda1. Visitors present: Mr. Tom Kelly.
The minutes of the adjourned meeting held on February 16,
1960 were read and approved.
A discussion took place regarding certain minor work to be
done at the city jail and Mayor Bonjorn was authorized to
secure bids and have the work done by the low bidder.
Police Chief Tyndal submitted his monthly report which was
accepted and ordered filed.
Inspector submitted his monthly report which was accepted.
Mr. Snyder also called the attention of the Council to certain
violations of the sanitation code. Inspector Snyder was
requested to see that the violations in question cease.
Motion was made by Bishop, seconded by York and carried that
Mr. ra1ph Snyder be appointed as City Health and Sanitation office
along with his other duties as Building Inspector.
Mr. Roe, Chairman of the Water Committe, reported possible
Water Department expansion and further stated that he hoped to hav
a report from the engineer in the near future.
Motion by Bishop, seconded by Christensen and carried that
Mr. Christehsen, Chairman of the Parks Committee, be authorised
to have the necessary repairs made on the bleachers at the
ball park at a cost not to exceed $350.00.
Mr. York reported that the floating dock adjacent to the boat
ramp at the J. C. Beach was badly in need of repairs, or removal.
After some discussion regarding the matter motion was made
by Christensen, seconded by York and carried that Supt. Sheldon
remove the floating dock as soon as possible.
Mr. York brought up the matter of needed side walk repairs
and a discussion followed. The matter of ce~enting between
the sidewa;ks and the ,q~rbing iA the down-town section was
also discussed. No action was takeh in the matters.
Clerk Johnson read a letter from Mr. Marvin Styles, Clermont-
Minneola Schools, wherein Mr. Styles requested permission for the
high school ball team to use the City ball park on East Ave.,
Clerk Johnson was requested to advise Mr. Styles that permission
was granted.

Clerk Johnson read letters from City attorney Morse relating
to the transfer of ownership of the canal between lake Winona
and Lake Minnehaha from O. H. Keene to the City of Clermont,
and the matter of deeding certain property to Mr. Spillers
in return for a boat ramp; both being on the South side of
lake Winona. Bot~ matters were referred to the Streets
Committee for study and recommendation.
Motion by Bisg~p, seconded by Christensen and carried that
bills be paid.
Clerk Johnson advisee the Council that Mr. William Boyd had
requested that he be paid interest on the amount of $570.00
which was allowed him as a credit on paving assessments.
Motion was made by Bishop, seconded by Christensen that Mr.
Boyd's request be dehied and that all interest be disallowed.
Motion was made by Bishop, seconded by Christensen and carried
that the Peoples state Bank of Groveland be included with the
Citizens Bank of Clermont and the First Fedaral Savings and Loan
Ass'n. of Clermont as a depository for City of Clermont
funds.
Motion by Christensen, seconded by York and carried that
the following listed property be advertised for sale to the
highest bidder with the city Council reserving the right to
reject any, and all, bids; bids to be opened and considered
at the regular Council meeting to be held in April 5, 1960.

the North eo feet of the South 87 feet of the West 20 feet of
lot 17, Block 80; parcel No.2. North 30 feet of the South 57
feet of lot 19, and the North 30 feet of the South 57 feet of
the West 20 feet of lot 17, Block 80; parcel 3. The South 27 feet
of lot 19 and the South 27 feet of the West 20 feet of lot
17, Block mG.
Motion by Bishop, seconded by York and carried that meeting
adjourn.

REQUEST FOR BIDS

The City Council of the City of Clermont will accept sealed
bids at their regular meeting to be held on April 5, 1960, at
8:00 o'clock P. M. for the sale of the following described
parcels of real property owned by and located in the City of
Clermont, to-witt:
parcel No.1: North 30 feet of South 87 feet of lot 19,
and~he North 30 feet of the South 87 feet of West 20 feet
of lot 17, Block 80;
parcel No.2: North 30 feet of South 57 feet of lot 19,
and the North 30 feet of South 57 feet of west 20 feet of
lot 17, Block 80;
parcel No.3: South 27 feet of lot 19, and the South
27 feet of West 20 feet of lot 17, Block 80;
All as represented on the Odrficial Map of the City of
Clermont, filed 2/4/26 and recorded in Plat Book 8, pages
17-23 inclusive, Public Records of Lake County, Florida.
Bids may be made on any one or more parcels. All bids
must be sealed, delivered to the City Clerk, and accompanied
by check for 10% of total bid, on or before S :00 P. M.
Tuesday, April 5, 1960.
Successful bidder must furnish own evidence of title.
Title conveyed by City will be free of all encumbrances,
including 1960. taxes.
All bids may be rejected by the Council.
