SPECIAL rr.EETING
A special meeting of the City Council of
the City of Clermont was called at the office
of the City Clerk on Friday, January 8. The
meeting was called to order by Council president,
Mr. G. Y. Middleton, at 4:00 P.M. with all
members present with the exception of Mr. Clarence
Bishop.
Chairman Middleton stated that the American
Legion had requested permission to locate a
carnival on the ~risz property on Montrose street
for a period of siX days, and further requested
that the license fee of $50.00 per day be waived.
Motion was made by Mr. Charles Roe, seconded
by Mr. Christensen and carried, that the American
Legion be granted permission to locate a carnival
on the ,J:i'risz property, on I':ontrose Street, for
a period of six days beginning January 11, 1960,
and ending January 17, 1960, and that the
occupational license fee of $50.00 per day be
waived.
City Clerk Johnson advised the Council that
he had sold that part of Block l25-A,Sunset Park,
ly ing North of Highway 50, to Mr. V. A. Oswalt for
$1000.00; the price set by the City Council, and
asked that Mayor BonJorn be given authorization
to execute a deed. Motion was made by Mr. Roe
seconded by Mr. Christensen and carried, that
Mayor Bon Jorn execute a deed to V. A. Oswalt
for that part of Bloc~ 125-A, Sunset park,> North
of Highway "50".
Motion made by Mr. Roe, seconded by Mr.
Christensen and carried, that the City of Clermont
pay the cost of not to exceed three yards of
Reddy-Mix cement to be used at Kehlor Park.
Clerk Johnson ~ead a letter from Mr. Irving
Morse advising that Mr. Smith of the Crest destaurant
desired permission to apply to the state Beverage
Department for a special liquor license to serve
mixed drinks during meal hour only. Mr. I'lIorse
further advised that Mr. 3mith was entitled to
such license based on floor area and seating capacity.
Motion was made by Mr. Roe, seconded by Mr.
Christensen and carried, that such permission be
granted and that all Council members sign the
necessary statement of agreement to the State
Beverage Department and that a copy of such state-
ment become a part of these minutes.
Motion was made by Mr. Christensen, seconded
by Mr. Roe, and carried, that meeting adjourn.

Gentlemen:
The City of Clermont bas no objection to the issuance to Mr. JarlIUm
Smith, of the Crest Restaurant, of a Special Liquor License for his place of
business whereby he may have a service bar for the serving of alcoholic beverlages
during the hours his restaurant is open. Such a license not to allow a public ~Lr
or sale by the package.
