11-24-1959 Regular Meeting ADJOURNED MEETING An adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held in the office of the City Clerk on Tuesday - November 24, 1959. The meeting was called to order by the Council Chairman, Charles Roe, at 7:30 P.M. with the following Council members present: Oswalt, Boyd, Middleton; Absent: Christenson. Other officials present were: Clerk Johnson, City Attn'y. Morse, Sup't. Sheldon, Inspector Snyder. Mayor Hullinger was also present and in- formed the Council that he had returned to the City. Others present were: representatives of M.D.Moody & Sons, Inc. and Georgia-Florida Tradtor Co. A representative of the local press was also present. . Chairman Roe stated that the .fi'rst order of business was the opening of bids on the sale of a street sweeper to the City. Clerk Johnson opened the bids which were as follows: Wayne Street Sweeper (M.D.Moody & Sons,Inc.) $ 8,400.00 Elgin Street Sweeper (Georgia-Florida Tractor Co.) $ 7,946.00 After considerable discussion, motion was made by Mr. Middleton, seconded by Mr. Oswalt and carried, that the bid be awarded to M.D.Moody & Sons,Inc. and that the pur- chasing agent be authorized to issue a purchase order for same and that the order include a water flushing system and eliminate a gutter broom 'filling attachment, and that the bid price be raised to include the exchange. Chairman Roe stated that the next order of business was the examination of petitions for nomination of the following offices for the General Election to be held on December 8, 1959. Petitions of the candidates, and the office to which nominated as listed below, were examined, found to be in order and ordered filed. Mayor (1 year term) Joseph BonJorn Councilmen (2 year terms) Clarence Bishop \-lilliam Boyd v. A. Oswalt John York Clerk Johnson was directed to have the ballots printed for the General Election to be held December 8, 1959. Inspector Snyder called the Council's attention to certain unsanitary conditions existing,at the Cashwell and Kessler Bldg. at the corner of Montros~ and 8th streets. Inspector Snyder was directed to see that the conditions in question are corrected. Motion by ~IT. Boyd, seconded by rIT. Oswalt and carried, that meeting adjourn. IL Ii. ~ Chairman, City Council City of Clermont, Florida ... \ .~. l J-/ " ; .~/rr '-' ... :/- " --. ---- ~ NOTICE TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: YOU, and each of you, will please take notice that the City Council of the City of Clermont will, at its Regular Meeting to be held on December 1, 1959, at 7:30 P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible, consider the passage of an Ordinance providing for the permanent abandon- ment, closing and vacating by said City of the following described street and area, to-wit: S 1/2 of Division Street lying West of Bloxam Avenue and East of Galena Avenue and S 1/2 of Division Street East of Bloxam Avenue and West of the Right-of-.Way of State Road 25, U. S. 27 (formerly State Road S-A, Federal Route 19); and, Undesignated 60 foot area at the East end of the lake in Tract 52 of Section IS, Township 22 South, Range 26 East, as represented on Map of Lake Highlands Company of Florida and/or as further represented on the Official Map of the City of Clermont as a fractional part of the South 1040' of W 1/2 of SW 1/4 of SE 1/4 of said Section IS, Township 22 South, Range 26 East, extending South- erly from Disston Avenue towards but not to Galena Ave- nue, which Ordinance shall also provide for the reversion of the lands within said street and undesignated 60 foot area in fee simple to the owners of the real property lying adjacent and abutting thereto.
