SPECIAL I'IEErITNG
A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of
Clermont, called by Council President Charles Roe, was
held at the city hall on 'vJednesday, Hay 28, 1958.
The ~1eetinr: Wt'JS called to order by Councilb President
Charles rtoe at 5:00 p. M. with all Council members present.
Not ion ~'ms made by o St^18.lt , seconded by Bishop and carriied
that t~'e City of Clermont enter in to an agreement with
Harry Iiendon and Associates, engineers, for a preliminary
survey of Clermont and adjacent territory to determine the
feasibility of natural gas installations. Kayor Keene
~"Ias authorized to execute the ggreement.
Kotion was made by Oswalt, seconded by Carrington and carried
that the city accept the plat dravm by C. .8.. Shewey, as the
establishnent of the right of way for Chestnut street from
EiG~th strpet to West Avenue, between blocks 88 & 89, and
that t~l.e city immediately proceed with the laying of a
mini~um clay base for said street.
Motion by Omvalt, seconded by Bishop and carried that
Star Neon Sign Company, of \'J inter Garden, be authorized DO
proceed with the installation of a large directional sign
at the intersection of high~'Jays "50" and "27" at an approximate
cost of $475.00, and the further installation of small
directional signs at highway "50" and seventh and eight
street s, at an approx imate cost of -tl06. 00 each, and that
the city place on order with Star }~on Sign Company the
installation of a duplicate of the sign to be placed at
highl'lay s "50" & "27" to be placed at hirftway ~" and
Grand highway as soon as work on grand highway-ls completed.
By mutual agreement of all members of the Councim the Parks
committee was placed in complete charme of the maintenance
of the local ball park and the scheduling of all game sand
practice games.
Notion by Bishop, seconded by Offivalt and carried that
meeting Adjourn.
