07-21-1959 Regular Meeting ADJOURNED MEETING .J An adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held in the office of the City Clerk on Tuesday, July 21, 1959. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Vice-Chairman Glenn Middleton in the absence of Chairman Roe. All other Council members present. Other officials present were: Mayor Hullinger, Sup't. Sheldon, ,Deputy Clerk Dolores Williams, Chief of Police Tyndal, City Attorney Morse. A representatige of the local press was also present. The minutes of the Regular Meeting held July 7, 1959, were read and approved. ... Mayor Hullinger reported that he had received two bids on painting of the entire interior of the Old City Hall Bldg. as follows: Cecil Keene: $700.00 Baird: $620.00 Motion by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Oswalt and carried that the City reject all bids and that Mayor Hullinger have just the interior of the court room and the police offices painted, as previously authorized. Mayor Hullinger further reported that the Police Department was running smoothly. Mayor Hullinger still further reported that he had received complaints about the dense under growth on that strip of lake shore lying between the south banks of Lake Winona and Lake Shore Drive. The Mayor was advised that mowing of this had already been started, but was stopped tem- porarily because of high water. A general discussion took place with regards reducing the rear yard requirements to 10' on that property located south of State Road # 50 zoned as T C. Motion was made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Christenson and carried, that the setback of back lot requirements on those lots south of State Road # 50 in Blocks 110,99,89,85,72,61,44, 28 and 171 :~.~ow platted, be amended to read 10'. j.. ~~ ~ /r~.-L" ~~ Mr. Christenson', ':Chr. of the Parks Committee, moved, with regards request previously made to the Council that a tree lo- cated in the streit in front of the property at 670 E. Magnolia be removed, that/the tree be removed at the adjoining property owners expense!cind subject to the City Superintendent's inspection. The motion was seconded by Mr. Boyd and carried. Mr. Boyd, Chr. of the Water Committee, requested permission to contact the Southeastern Underwriters Association with regards requirements necessary to change the City's Insurance rating from Rate 8 to Rate 7. Motion was made by Mr. Christenson, seconded by Mr. Oswalt and carried, that Mr. Boyd be authorized to contact the Southeastern Underwriters Association, furnishing them with a water main map of the City. Chr. Middleton, reporting for Inspector Snyder, reported that request for permission to construct a fruit stand at the corner of 8th Street and DeSoto had been submitted. Clerk Williams was directed to advise Inspector Snyder that such con- struction was permissable at this location as long as it complied with the City Bldg. Code and the City Zoning Ordinance. Chr. Middleton reported to the Council that he had received a letter from Mr. Fred Tanner of the Lake County Health Dep't. stating that the removal of his crew from the West Lake project was only temporary and that this project would be completed in the near future. Sup't. Sheldon reported to the Council that the City's use-all Ferguson Tractor was broken down and requested permission to have it repaired, at an approximate cost of $800.00, or pur- chase a new one. Motion was made by Mr. Christenson, seconded by Mr. Boyd and carried, that Sup't. Sheldon be authorized to solicit bids for one tractor, size of same as deemed necessary by Sup't. Sheldon.
