12-23-1958 Called Meeting
A called meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont
was held at the office of the City Clerk, Tuesday - December 23,
1958. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. with all
members present excepting Mrs. Carrington. Others present were:
Mayor-elect, W. L. Hullinger; Councilmen-elect, C. C. Christensen
and Glenn Middleton.

Chairman Roe explained that the purpose of this meeting was to
determine some method whereby those property owners wishing to
do so, might finance their share of escrow money for street
paving costs.
After considerable discussion regarding this matter, motion
made by Mr. Oswalt, seconded by Mr. Boyd, and carried, that
Clerk Johnson be authorized to accept promissory notes for
escrow street paving costs, that, said promissory notes are to
bear 6% interest and to be for a period not to exceed five years,
that, said notes are to be payable at the Citizens Bank of Clermont
as follows:
3 year notes - To be paid on basis of 1/3 of
principal plus interest each year
4 year notes - To be paid on basis of 1/4 of
principal plus interest year year
5 year notes - To be paid on basis of 1/5 of
principal plus interest each year
All notes shall be payable on or before expiration date.
As Mrs. Carrington could not be present, a written suggestion
was made by her,to the effect that, the staff of City Hall be
allowed Christmas holidays from Wednesday noon until Monday
morning at 8 K.M., and, that the City Administration Office be
closed during that time.
Motion by Mr. Bishop, seconded by Mr. Oswalt, and carried, that
Mrs. Carrington's suggestion be adopted.
Motion was made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Oswalt, and carried,
that the Parks Committee be authoriz.ed to proceed with the nece-
ssary grading, sodding, surveying and anything else necessary,
in order to complete the addition to Oakhill Cemetery in order
that the lots in same might be offered for sale to the general
pUblic as soon as possible.
Motion by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Bishop, and carried, that
the City of Clermont permit the Lake County Road Department and
the Lake County School Board to use their excess fill dirt to
widen Pitt street on the north side of Shady Nook Lake, with the
understanding that the City will widen and re-surface this street
when possible.
Motion by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Oswalt, and carried, that
meeting be adjourned.
