ADJOURNED ~mqTING
An adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City
of Clermont was held at the city Hall, Tuesday, April
16, 1957.

The meeting was first called to oPder at Cooper's
r1emorial Library at 7:00 and adjourned to the city hall
at 7:45 P. M. All Council mem~rs were present.
Others present were Mayor Keene, Supt. Sheldon, Poli6e~
Chief Parker and several visfttors.
The minutes of the meetin~s held April 2 and April 5
were read and ap9roved.
Mr. O. T. Cook spoke to the Counc1~ relative to the
opening of a narking lot on J10ntrose street between
7th and 8th streets. J1fr. Cook requested that, inasmuch
as the proceeds from the parking lot would be donated
to South Lake Memorial Hos9ital, the city do a certain
amount of cleaning, grading, tree removing and trash
hauling wi thomt charge. r/fr. Cook further sup-erested that
the city also make certain charges for the use of its
parking lot. The requests were taken under consideration.
Nr. Bishop, Stre"ts Committee, requesting a meetinf- of the
City Council with State Road Department engineers to
consider and discuss specifications for city streets.
The meeting was set for May 7th at 7:00 P. H.
Mr. Roe, water Committee, requested a meeting of his
Committee for Friday at 7:30 P. M. at his home.
Motion was made ny Carrington, seconded by VanNostrand
and carried that lights be installed over the new shuffle
Board courts with work to be done by city employees.
:lotion by VanNostrand, seconded by Bishop and carried
that Mr. Fullwood be authorized to make certain repairs
to one of the windows in the city jail with t~e help of
ci ty labor.
The proposed Traffic Ordinance was discussed and was
returned to Police Chief P8rker for final corr~ctlons
and recom~endatlons.
Codifyln~ of City Ordinances was also clscussed and
Clerk Johnson was instructed to write for a sample copy.
K2yor Keene stated that a Police School was being held
in Eustis and recommended that if at all possible the
members ,f the local Police denartment attend.
It was decided that Chief rarker should make every
efFort to attend and that if a schedule can be arranged
that other members also attend.
Supt. Sheldon re90rted that a fire hydrant had been
installed at Minnehaha Avenue and First street.

Clerk Johnson read a copy of the minutes of the Zoning
Commission's meeting relative to an extension eastward of
the present C-l zone.
;'lotion was made by Roe, seconded by VanNostrand and carried
that the city accept the recommendations of the Zoning
commission that the present C-l zone be extended to include
the following: lots 1, 2, 3, 7 & 8, Blook 75, lots 1 to 8
incl, and lots 19 & 20 Block 76, lots 1 to 10 incl, Block 77 and
lots 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10, Block 78, that the intention of the
City Council to amend the Zoning Ordinance be properly
a.dvertised and the.t the city attorney prepared the
amendment.

Tax assessor Stanley discussed assessments and
valuations with the Council at considerable length.
Motion by VanNostrand, seconded by Roe and Carried
that meeting adjourn.
