A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City
of Clermont was held in the City Administration Building
on Friday, September 20, 1963. The Mayor and each member
of the Council received written notice of the meeting,as
required by the City Charter.
The meeting was called to order by Council Chairman
Clarence Bishop at 1:00 P.M. with all Councimmen present.
Others present were, Mayor BonJorn, Building Inspector Snyder,
City Clerk Johnson, Electrical Examining Board Member, Forrest
Colegrove and representatives of the Orlando Sentinel and the
local Press.
Chairman Bishop stated that the meeting had been called
for the purpose of considering an amendment to Section 8-5
of the Electrical Code of the City of Clermont.
Councilman Hoskinson presented for passage a proposed
Ordinance Number 5-C, the same being: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION 8-5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA,
~~illIINING TO ELECTRICITY; PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE,
and the ORDINANCE was read in full the first time and the
Chairman referred same to the Building Committee. Councilman
Hutchingson of the Building Committee stated that this ORDI-
NANCE, at the direction of the City Council by the Laws and
Auditing Committee and the City Attorney was prepared, and
asked that same be taken up at this time.
Councilman York moved that the rules be waived and
ORDINANCE NUMBER 5-C be read a second time by title only.
The motion was agreed to unanimously and ORDINANCE NUMBER
5-C was read a second time by title only.
Councilman Hutchingson moved that the rules be further
waived and ORDINANCE NUMBER 5-C be read a third time by title
onl~'. The motion was agreed to unanimously and ORDINANCE NUMBER
5-C was read a third time by title only. When the vote was
taken on the passage of ORDINANCE NUMBER 5-C, the result was:
YEAB: Turville, Hutchingson, York, Hoskinson and Bishop
YEAB: Five NAYES: None. So ORDINANCE NUMBER 5-C passed,
title as stated, and Number 5-C was assigned to it and ordered
immediately placed in the ORDINANCE BOOK of the City and a
cop~' posted.
Motion byCouncilman Hutchingson, seconded by Councilman
Tur~~lle and carried, that meeting be adjourned.
