SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held in the City Administration Building on Friday, December 27, 1963.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Council Chairman
Clarence Bishop. All Co~cil members were present with the exception
of f1r. Turville. Mayor BonJorn, City Clerk Johnson, John Boyett, Glenn
Middleton and Bronson Robinson were also present.
Chairman Bishop stated that one of the purposes, of the meeting was
to check the plans and specifications of the proposed City building.
A review and discussion of such plans and specifications followed and
at the conclusion motion was made by Councilman Hutchingso~'l seconded
by Councilman York, and unanimously carried, thut the City Clerk advise
Mr. Stiggins that the bid opening date on the proposed City building
was postponed, pending some changes in plans and specifications.
Motion was made by Mr. York, seconded by Mr. Hutchingson, and
unanimously carried that the necessary work order be given to Superinten-
dent Sheldon to install the recently purchased fire siren on the Lake
Highlands water tower. Clerk Johnson was authorized to contact Florida
Telephone Corporation and make arrangements for the installation of a
line to the installation.
Chairman Bishop stated that the next order of business was to
canvas the ballot of the General Election run-off held on December 19,
1963.
After checking the Oertificate of Result by the Election Board,
motion was made by Councilman Hutchingson, seconded by Councilman
Hoskinson and unanimously carried that it is RESOLVED that the Certificate
of Result of the General Election run-off of the City of Clermont held
on December 19, 1963 be accepted and that a copy of the result be
received into these minutes and made a part thereof and be it FURTHER
RESOLVED in accordance with the result of the General Election run-off
That Cha.rles Pool, Jr. be, and is hereby declared, elected to
the office of Councilman, in Group Two, of the City of Clermont
for a two year term beginning on the first Tuesday in January,
1964.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED and dec~ared that upon qualification of
said officer elected, as afore said, that he shall assume the
duties of such office to which he is elected and hold and per-
form the duties prescribed by law.
Motion "Tas made by Councilman Hutchingson, seconded':by by Councilman
York and carried that each member of the Election Board be paid Thirteen
Dollars ($13.00) for their service during the election held on December
19, 1963.
Councilman Hoskinson presented a RESOLUTION pertaining to the
operation of City Work Crews and moved its adoption. The RESOLUTION
was read by the City Clerk and Councilman Hutchingson seconded its
adoption.

was:
YEAS: Hutchingson, Hoskinson, Bishop and York

NAYS: Nohe
ABSENT: Turville

So the RESOLUTION as read was adopted and No 23R was assigned to it
and ordered placed in Resolution Book pages 36, 37 and 38.
Motion by Mr. York, seconded by Mr. Hoskinson and carried that
meeting adjourn.
