03-27-1964 Special Meeting . . MINUTES N~ 124 SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the City Council ~f the City of Clermont was held in the office of the City Clerk on Friday, March 27, 196~. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 P. M. by Mayor Joseph BonJorn with all Councilmen present. City Clerk Johnson was also present. Mayor BonJorn stated that the purpose of the meeting was to consider sealed bids for the sale of Lots 9 and 10 .and fractional Lot 8, Block 125A, Sunset Park, presently owned by the City of Clermont. City Clerk Johnson opened bids which were as follows: Fred L. Wolfe, $3200.00; Martin Winther, $3000.00 and South Lake County Develop- ment Corp., $3500.00. Bids were contingent upon the city filling in the washed out ditch across the property and extending the storm drainage from Linton Court to Sunset Lake. The bid from South Lake County Development Corp. was further contingent upon their client being able to obtain the desired building permit. Motion was made by Mr. Hoskinson, seconded by Mr. Pool that the high bid of $3500.00 submitted by South Lake County Development Corporation be accepted and that the purchaser be assured that a building permit may be obtained as provided for in the Zoning Ordinance. The motion carried with Mr. Turville voting Nay. Mr. Turville was of the opinion that the offer was too low and that furthermore the members of the Council had tentatively agreed that they would not accept less than $5000.00 for the property. Other members were of the opinion that the property was not worth $5000.00; that the City should dispose of unneeded property and that new building and business should be encouraged when possible. Motion by Mr. Hutchingson, seconded by Mr. Hoskinson, and carried, that meetillg adjourn. nif~ ./
