SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the City Council of Clermont was held in the
office of the City Clerk on Thursday, April 30, 1964. The meeting was
called to order by Mayor Joseph BonJorn at 7:30 P. M. Councilmen
present were Messrs. Hutchingson, Turville and York. Absent: Messrs.
Pool and Hoskinson. Other City officials present were Building Inspector
Snyder and City Clerk Johnson.
Mr. Turville presented a Resolution pertaining to providing the
necessary funds for the rebuilding of a part of Lake Shore Drive and
moved its adoption. The RESOLUTION was read by the Clerk and Mr. York
seconded its adoption. ~hen the vote ~as taken on the adoption of the
RESOLUTION the result was:
YEAS: York, Turville and Hutchingson
TOTAL YEAS: 3
NAYS: l'lone
ABSENT: Pool and Hoskinson
So the RESOLUTION as read was adopted and No. 29'was assigned to it and
ordered placed in Resolution Book pag.e 46 and ordered posted.
Mr.. Hutchingson presented a Resoilution pertaining to providing
the ,necessary funds for the construction of a Police and Flhre Department
Building and moved its adoptiop. The RESOLUTION was read, by the Clerk
and Mr. ~urville seconded its adoption,.
When the vote was taken on the adoption of the RESOLUTION the
result was:
YEAS: Turville, York and Hutchingson.
TOTAL YEAS: 3
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Pool and Hoskinson
So the RESOLUTION as read was adopted' and No. 30 was assigned to it
and ordered placed in Resolution Book Page 47 and ordered posted.
Motion was made by Mr., Hut~hingson, seconded by Mr. Turville and
carried that the sample ordinance set forth on Page A-I to A-6 inclusive
of Part II of the Southern Standard Building Code be adopted with minor
changes and with the inclusion of requiring that yard lines be buried
to a minimum depth of twenty four inches. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Turville and carried and the Clerk was requested to have the Ordinance
available for passage at the next regular meeting of' the City Council.
Mr. James Hoskinson arrived at this time.
A proposed agreement between the City of Crermont and the Lake
Apopka Natural Gas District was discussed and Mr,; Hutchingson moved that.
the President of the City Council and the City Clerk, be authorized to
execute the agreement. The motion was seconded by Mr,. Turville but on
roll call vote both Mr. York and Mr. Hoskinson abstained from voting.
As the motion failed to carry the matter was tabled for future considera-
tion.
Mr. York recommended and moved that two street lights be installed
on DeSoto Street, between Anderson and Disston Streets.
Motion by Mr. Hoskinson, seconded by Mr. York and carr~ed that the
meeting adjourn.
