05-05-1964 Regular Meeting . . MINUTES N~ 137 REGULAR I'1EETING A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held in-the office of the City Clerk on Tuesday, May 5, 1964. The meeting was called to order by Mayor BonJorn at 7:30 P~ M. with all Council members present. Other City officials present were Superintendent Sheldon, Building Inspector Snyder, Police Chief Tyndal, City Attorney Caldwell, Deputy Clerk Garroll and Clerk Johnson. Others present were Jimmy Lee Jackson, Fred Nyhius and a representative of the Orlando Sentinel. The minutes of the adjourned meeting held April 21, 1964 and the Special meeting held April 30, 1964 were approved as written. Jimmy Lee Jackson appeared before the Council and requested per- mission to move his beer license to a location on Highway 50 near Fourth Street. ~he request was denied as the location requested was not the required distance from a church. Mr. Jackson then advised the Council that he would like to close the present main entrance to his building, located at 650 Bloxam, and make the main entrance in the rear of the building and that'under such conditions he desired a new measurement to determine if the sale of beer would then be allowed. Building Inspector Snyder was requested to determine if the location would be the required distance from schools and churches and to report back to the Council. Chief Tyndal submitted his regular monthly report which was accepted and ordered filed. Inspector Snyder submitted his monthly report which was accepted, and ordered filed. Mr. Pool of the Parks Committee reported that the docks at the Jaycee Beach had been repaired and that he would report and make recommenda- tions on the Summer Recreational Program at the next meeting. Mr. Hoskinson reported that the safety equipment for the Firemen, recently ordered, was now arriving and that construction of the Fire and Police building had started. Mr. Turville of the Streets Committee reported that the rebuilding of Lake Shore Drive had started. Motion was made by Councilman Hutchingson, seconded by Councilman Turville and carried that the bills be paid. Clerk Johnson reported that Mr. Westbrook, of Michaels Engineering Company, would make a report and recommendation on our water distribution system at the next meeting of the Council. Clerk Johnson further suggested that the meeting be adjourned until Tuesday May 12, 1964 at which time the proposed sign control ordinance, the administrative section of the gas ordinance and the pending gas franchise agreement could be thoroughly considered and appropriate action taken. Motion was made by Mr. Hutchingson, seconded by Mr. Turville and carried that the meeting adjourn until Tuesday, May 12, 1964 at 7:30 P. M. /' e MINUTES .'
