11-03-1964 Regular Meeting . e MINUTES REGULAR MEETING N? 184 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held in the office of the City Clerk on Tuesday, November 3~ 1964. The meeting was called to order by Mayor BonJorn at 7:30 P. M. with all Council members present. City officials present were Police Chief Tyndal, Building Inspector Snyder, Superintendent Sheldon and Clerk Johnson. A representative of the Orlando Sentinel was also present. The minutes of the meeting held on October 20, 1964 were approved as written. Chief Tyndal submitted his monthly report which was accepted and ordered filed. Chief Tyndal recorrunended that "No Parking" signs be placed on Fifth Street at each side of Highway 50 in order to eliminate parking in areas too close to the intersection. Chief Tyndal also discussed the matter of signs and traffic regulations on Lake Shore Drive. Motion was made by Mr. Hutchingson, seconded by Mr. Turville and carried, that "No Parking" signs be installed on Fifth Street at its intersection with State Road 50 as recorrunended by Chief Tyndal.' Motion was made by Mr. Hoskinson, seconded by Mr. Hutchingson and carried that the matter of signs and traffic regulations on Lake Shore Drive be referred to Mr. Turville and the other members of the Streets Corrunittee and Chief Tyndal with authority to take the necessary action. Mr. Hoskinson stated that the local Police Department should be corrunended for their fine work during Halloween night. Clerk Johnson advised the Council that wool blankets could be pur- chased for the city jail at a price of $4.75 each in lots of 35. Mayor BonJorn thought that they might possibly be obtained from Army surplus at Camp Blanding. , ! Motion was made by Mr. Hutchingson, seconded by Mr. Pool and carried, that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to purchase 24 blankets provided that the Mayor was unable to obtain them at Blanding. Motion by Mri Hutchingson, seconded by Mr. Hoskinson and carried, that bills be paid and that the following listed bills be paid from the 1964-65 budget: Westerman Ford, $1850.00; Stalnaker Chevrolet Company, $2045.00; ~iichaels Engineering Company, $2257.94, Saine, Inc. $3577.50, and County Taxes, $17.59.
