ADJOURNED MEETING
An adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont
was held in the office of the City Clerk on Monday, November 23, 1964.
In the absence of Mayor BonJorn the meeting was called to order at
5:00 o'clock P. M. by Council President Norris Hutchingson. All Council
members were present and Mayor BonJorn also arrived during roll call.
City Clerk Albert Johnson was also present. .
Clerk Johnson reported that nomination petitions had been filed for
the office of Council, subject to the General Election to be held on
December 8, 1964; that the petitions had been checked and found to be
in order and that the nominating petitions were as follows:
For Councilman - Group One (1)
Charles Beals, Ernest O. Hodge and Norris
':fHutch) Hutchingson.
For Councilman - Group Three (3)
D. G. Rambo, Harold Turville and J. (Jay)
Vandermeer.
For Councilman - Group Five (5)
James Freeman, .James (Jim) Hoskinson and
Max Judy
Motion was made by Mr. Turville, seconded by Mr. York and unanimously
carried v .that the petitions were found to be in order; that the candidates
be declared qualified and that the City Clerk be authorized to have the
necessary ballots prepared for absentee voters and voting machines; that
voting machines be used for the General Election being held on December
8, 1964 and that the question or propostion "Shall the City Council of
the City of Clermont have the authority to hire a City Manager" be in-
cluded on the ballot.
Motion was made by Mr. Pool, seconded by Mr. York and carried that
the motion which carried (during the meeting held November 17, 1964)
designating the Fire Station at the corner' of West and DeSoto Sts as the
polling place for the General Election of December 8, 1964 be rescinded
and that the Municipal Court Room be designated as the polling place.
Mo.tion by Mr. Pool, seconded by Mr. York, and carried, that the
meeting adjourn until Friday, November 27, :1964 at 5: 00 0' clock P. M. in
the office of the City Clerk.
