SPECIAL MEETING
A, general discussion meeti~g of the City Council of the City of
Clermont was held in the office of the City Clerk on Thursday, February
11, 1965. The Mayor and all Council members were present as well as Messrs.
Martin Winther, Norris Hutchingson, Oakley Seaver and City Clerk Johnson.
Mayor BonJorn called the"meeting to order at 9: 15 A. M. and stated
that the purpose of the meeting was to ~gree on the Resolutions to be
adopted and forwarded to the Board of ~ounty Commissioners of Lake County,
Florida, stati~g the wis~ep of the City Council of the City of Clermont
as regards to the allocation of primary and secondary road funds to be
bu~geted by the Board of County Commissioners of Lake County and the State
Road Department of Florida.
Motion was made by Mr. Turville, seconded by Mr. Hoskinson and
carried, that the rule of written notice for Special Meetings be waived and
that inasmuch as all Council members were present that the', meeting be
declared an official session t,o consider, and act upon, any business which
may come before the Council.
Mr. Hoskinson offered, and moved, the adoption of A resolution (No. 36)
requesting that the Board of Lake County Commissioners place on their
priority' list for secondary roads the resurfacing and/or rebuilding the
Farm to Market Road, more definitely described as Federal Aid Project #185B,
from Anderson Street in Clermont, Southwesterly to its intersection with
State Road 561. The motion was seconded by Mr. Turville and unanimously
carried.
Mr. Turville offered, and moved, the adoption of a Resolution (No. 37)
requesting that the Board of County Commissioners of Lake County,Florida
place on'their priority list the construction of two additional traffic
lanes, for State Road 25 (U.S. 27) through Lake County, when same is pre-
sented to the State Road Department of F,lorida. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Hoskinson, ,and carried.
Mr,: Y9rR: pffered, ,an.d m~ved the ,'adpptipn of a Resolution (No. 38)
requesting that the Board of County Commissioners of Lake County, Florida,
place on' their priority list the resurfacing and or rebuilding of State
Road 561, from Clermont Southerly to its intersection with State Road 33,
when same is presented to the State Road Department of Florida. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Beals and unanimously carried.
Mr. Pool offered and moved the adoption of a Resolution (No. 39)
requesting that the Board of County Commissioners of Lake County, Florida
place on' their priority list the construction of two additional traffic
lanes for State Road 50 through Lake County, when same is presented to the
State Road Department of Florida. The motion was seconded by Mr. Turville,
and carried.
Mr. Beals moved that the City Clerk advise the Board of County
commissioners of Lake County, Florida, that the City Council of the City of
Clermont would like for them to use their influence with the State Road
Department of Florida to have State Road 19 redesignated as U. S. 23. The
motion was seconded by Mr. Pool, and carried.
Clerk Johnson was requested to write to Mr. Herman Dykes member of the
Board of County Commissioners of Lake County and request that he meet with
the members of the local Streets Committee at his convenience,' ,and investi-
gate the possibility of said Board of County Commissioners assisting the
'City in one 'or more projects of mutual benefit to both the City of Clermont
and the County of Lake.
