SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held in the City Administration Building on Ftiday, May 21, 1965.
The meeting was called to order at 2:30 P. M. by Council Chairman
James Hoskinson with all Council members present. In the absence of
City Clerk Johnson the minutes were recorded by Councilman Hoskinson.
Mr. Hoskinson stated that the meeting had been called for the
purpose of selecting a City Manager from the candidates under consideration.
Following a general discussion of fhe'matter, motion was made by
Councilman Beals, that Mr. Harold L. McIntosh be engaged as City
Manager at an annual salary of $7500.00 plus a car expense allowance or
a car to be furnished by the City and that Mr. McIntosh assume his
duties as City Manager starting July 19, 1965. The motion was seconded
by Mr. York. On a roll call vote the result was
AYES: Beals, York, Pool & Hoskinson
NAY: Turville
Mr. Turville stated that he wished it to be a matter of record that
his negative vote was for the reason that Mr. McIntosh was not experienced
as a City Manager.
Councilmen Hoskinson and Beals were requested to telephone Mr.
McIntosh, aamvising him of the Council's action and making the necessary
arrangements.
A motion was made by Mr. Beals, seconded by Mr. York, and carried
that meeting adjourn.
