SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held in the City Administration Building on Thursday, May 27, 1965. The
at 2:30 P. M. by
meeting was called to order/69uncil Chairman James Hoskinson with all
Council members present. Mayor BonJorn and City Clerk Johnson were also
present.
Mr. Hoskinson stated that the purpose of the meeting was to consider
a request by Mr. McIntosh, the recently selected City Manager, for an
advance of $1050.00 to pay the cost of his moving expenses to Clermont.
Mr. Hoskinson stated that Mr. McIntosh had indicated that the advance
would be repaid within 30 days.
Mr. Turville stated that he was opposed to making the advance.
Motion was made by Mr. Beals that the Clerk be authorized to advance
Mr. McIntosh an amount not to exceed $1050.00 in the following manner:
the advance to be secured by a promissory note with a due date of
September 1, 1965 and bearing interest at the rate of six percent per
annum;
that the City Clerk prepare the note and that Mr. McIntosh
execute it upon his arrival in Clermont and that the City Clerk pay to the
transportation eompany an amount not to exceed $1050.00 for its charges.
The motion was seconded by Mr. York, and carried, with Mr. Turville voting
nay.
Clerk Johnson was requested to telephone Mr. McIntosh and advise him
of the Council's action and to discuss previous telephone conversations
with members of the Council in order that there is no misunderstanding
and to then confirm the telephone conversation by letter.
A motion was made by Mr. York, seconded by Mr. Beals, and carried,
that the meeting adjourn.
