'Whereas, breast cancer is one of the most diagnosed cancers among women in the
United States, affecting hundreds of thousands of individuals and families each year; and
Whereas, it is estimated that in 2025, over 280,000 women and more than 2,500 men
in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 42,000 lives will
be lost to this disease; and
'Whereas, increased public awareness, early detection through regular screening, and
advances in medical research and treatment have significantly improved survival rates and
outcomes for those affected by breast cancer; and
Whereas, many survivors, healthcare providers, researchers, and advocates are
working tirelessly to raise awareness, provide support, and fund critical research in pursuit
of a cure; and
Whereas, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed each October, offers a dedicated
opportunity to honor those we have lost, support those currently battling the disease, and
recognize the strength and resilience of survivors and their families; and
Whereas, the City of Clermont remains committed to promoting education, awareness,
and access to screening and care, and encourages all residents to take proactive steps
toward their health and well-being;
WOW, 'Therefore, I,Tim Murry, Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida,
do hereby proclaim the month of October, Two Thousand and Twenty-Five as:
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In Witness 'Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the
City of Clermont to be affixed this 14th Day of October in the year Two Thousand and
Twenty-Five.
