Whereas, in 1872, J. Sterling Morton proposed to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture
that a special day be set aside for the planting of trees, and the holiday—called Arbor
Day—was first observed with the planting of more than a million trees in Nebraska; and
Whereas, Arbor Day is now observed throughout the nation and the world, reflecting
a long-standing tradition of recognizing the importance of trees to our communities, our
environment, and our quality of life; and
Whereas, trees help clean the air, conserve energy, reduce stormwater runoff, and
provide habitat for wildlife; they increase property values, enhance the economic vitality
of business areas, and beautify our neighborhoods; and
Whereas, the residents of Clermont value the environmental, economic, and social
benefits that trees provide and are encouraged to plant and care for trees to promote a
healthier, more sustainable community; and
Whereas, Clermont has been recognized as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day
Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective community forestry management;
Wow, 'rherefore, I,Tim Murry, Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida,
do hereby proclaim the 25th of April, Two Thousand and Twenty-Five as:

in 'Witness 'Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the
City of Clermont to be affixed this 16th Day of October in the year Two Thousand and
Twenty-Five.
