worship, entertainment venues, and the infrastructure that supports them are safer, more
resilient, and more sustainable when they are designed, constructed, inspected, and
maintained in accordance with modern building codes; and
1'lT`ieY6GiS� Building Safety Month is an annual public awareness campaign sponsored
by the International Code Council �ICC� each May that highlights how building safety
professionals, up-to-date building codes, and effective code administration help protect
lives and property; and
"ti►/F/,e7"BLi`4� the adoption, implementation, and enforcement of modern building codes,
along with a strong system of plan review and inspection, are essential to mitigate the
impacts of natural and human-caused hazards, thereby reducing injuries, loss of life,
property damage, and economic disruption; and
^ti►TFLBY6RS� code officials (building, fire, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and
structural) together with architects, engineers, designers, contractors, trades professionals,
and first responders, work tirelessly to keep our community safe through professionalism,
education, and collaboration; and
1'VFLBY6LLT� Building Safety Month provides an opport„mity for all residents, property
owners, and stakeholders to learn more about the importance of building safety and to
participate in activities that promote safer, more resilient, and more sustainable structures
across the City of Clermont_
