A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held in the office of the City Manager on Wednesday, May 11, 1966.
In the absence of Mayor BonJorn the meeting was called to order
at 10:00 A. M. by Mayor Protem, James Hoskinson.
Motion was made by Mr. Cochran, seconded by Mr. Vandermeer and un-
animously carried, that the rule of written notice for special meetings
be waived and that the Council sit in regular session to consider any
business which may come before it.
Motion was made by Mr. VanderMeer, seconded by Mr. Cochran,-and
carried, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with the construction
of the beach house at West Beach but that all bids for electrical w1r1ng
be rejected and that the City Manager negotiate for the wiring of the building
at a cost not to exceed $255.00.
Motion was made by Mr. Cochran, seconded by Mr. VanderMeer that
changes to the Jenkins Auditorium be authorized as follows:
The City of Clermont will accept a credit of $300.00 in lieu of
installing wire mesh on the outside of the building block of the addition
provded that the City is relieved of the expense of exhaust fan and air
conditioning in the rest rooms and the alteration of rest room windows;
both of which are due to no fault of the City Councilor the City Manager.
The City Council was in agreement that the proposed contract
agreement submitted by Micheals Engineering Company was not acceptable and
the City ~ger was requested to so advise said Micheals Engineering
Company and ask them if they would like our City attorney to recommend
changes.

The city Manager request all possible assistance from Congressman Herlong
and Senators Holland and Smathers in the city's application for Federal
assistance for the sewer system.
