SPECIAL MEETING
A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, June 21, 1966. The meeting was
called to order by Mayor BonJorn at 7:30 P. M. with all Council members
present. Also present was City Clerk-Manager Albert Johnson.
Mr. Johnson opened bids on surfacing of Montrose Street which were
as follows: Orlando Paving Company, surfacing course at .48 cents per
square yard, filling cracks, .10 cents per lineal foot: Basic Asphalt
Company at .46 cents per square yard for surface course and D3.cents per
square yard for filling cracks. Upon the recommendation of Mr. Johnson,
motion was made.by Mr. Cochran, seconded by Mr. Beals and carried that the
contract be awarded to the low bidder, Basic Asphalt Company.
Mr. Johnson also opened bids on the cost of installing draperies in
the Jenkins Auditorium which were as follows: Jordan Marsh, $592.20: Mrs.
Winnie Moore, $327.25. Councilman VanderMeer recommended and moved that
the low bid of $327.25 be accepted and that the contract for the installation
of draperies be awarded to Mrs. Winnie Moore. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Turville, and carried.
Mr. Johnson was requested to investigate the practicability of
installing time switches on the lights over the tennis courts in Kehlor Park.
URn the recommendation of Mr. Johnson, motion was made by Mr. Hosk1nson,
seconded by Mr. Vandermeer and carried that the City Manager be authorized
to have a precast septic tank, distribution box and sump pump installed at
West Lake Beach at a cost not to exceed $300.00.
The remainder of the meeting was devoted to discussion of the long
range plans proposed by Adley and Associates. It was unanimously agreed that
the Council should meet with Mr. Dake of Adley and Associates and discuss
the possibility of changes in certain phases of his proposal.
