REGULAR MEETING
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermon~ was held
in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, August 9, 1966. The meeting was called
to order at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor BonJorn with the following named Councilmen
present: Messrs. Beals, Hoskinson, Cochran and Vandermeer. Absent, Mr.
Turville. Other City officials present were City Manager Johnson, Superin-
tendent Sheldon, Police Chief Tyndal and City Attorney Langley.
Visitors were also present.
The invocation was given by Councilman Vandermeer.
The minutes of the meeting held July 26, 1966 were approved as
written.
Mr. Lewis Anthony of the Lake County Health Department spoke to the
Council with regards to community health problems and inquired as to what
extent the City Council wished their City government to participate in the
enforcement of health regulations. Mr. Hoskinson stated that he was of
the opinion that all enforcement of health regulations should be done by the
Lake County Health Department. The matter was further discussed and
Councilmen offered their opinion and assured Mr. Anthony of the cooperation
of City officials. However, it was not decided as to whether the actual
enforcement of State Health Department regulations, which the City has
adopted by reference as a part of their code, should be carried out by the
City or Clermont or whether it should be left in the hands of State anq
County authorities.

Mr. Hinson, Director of the Lake County Community Action Committee
discussed with the Council various phases of his proposed program and a
request for municipal financial assistance in actual cash outlay or in kind.
No action was taken on the matter as it developed that there was some
misunderstanding between Mr. Jake Lucas and Mr. Hinson regarding the availabiliL
of the proposed location for a center in Clermont.
Mayor BonJorn called the Council's attention to the League of
Municipalities meeting being held in Clearwater on October 23, 24, 25. The
Council decided that the Mayor, Council members, City At€orney and City
Manager should attend and the City Manager was requested to make reservations
accordingly.
Manager Johnson submitted his report; a copy of which follows these
minutes.
Mr. Johnson also advised the Council that he had received but one offer
for the City owned frame building located at 647 Montrose Street and that
such offer was for $25.00 submitted by Joe Allen of Minneola. Mr. Johnson
stated that the building was but little, if any, value and recommended that
the offer be accepted.
Motion was made by Mr. Beals, seconded by Mr. Cochran and carried,
that the offer for the frame house located at 647 Montrose in the amount of
$25.00 submitted by Joe Allen be accepted.
Mr. Hoskinson presented a Resolution pertaining to the use of alcoholic
beverages in municipally owned buildings and moved its adoption. The
Resolution was read by City Attorney Langley and Mr. Cochran seconded its
adoption.
When the vote was taken on the adoption of the resolution the result
was:

So the Resolution as read was adopted and No. 78 assigned to it and
ordered placed in the Resolution Book and a copy ordered posted.
City Attorney Langley submitted his report; a copy of which follows
these minutes.
Motion by Mr. Beals, seconded by Mr. Vandermeer, and carried, that
bills be paid.
Meeting adjourned.
