A regular meE~ting of the City Council of the City of
Clermont was held in the office of the City Clerk on Tuesday,
Januarj' 8, 1963.
The meeting lofas called to order at 7: 30 P. M. by Council
Chairman ~Jilliam Boyd with all council members present. Other
city officials prl~sent were City Attorney Morse, Police Chief
Tyndal, Inspector onyder, Superintendent Sheldon, Clerk Johnson
and Deputy Clerk Garroll. Mayor BonJorn was absent due to
illness. Others ];>resent were Municipal Judge J. K. Tryon
and incoming councilmen Norris Hutchingson and James Hoskinson.
Representatives of the vrlando Sentinel and local press were
also present.
The minutes of the adjourned meeting held December 18,
1962 were approved as written.
Chief Tyndal submitted his monthly report, as well as
his annual report;, and both were accepted and ordered filed..

which was accepted and ordered filed.
Councilman J)oy~, \-later Committee Chairman, reported that
the iJlater tanks had been repaired and painted, and that some
water pump trouble had been experienced during the holidays but
that the trouble had been corrected. Councilman Boyd further
reported that the water pump located at the corner of Highlands
and Bloxam AvenUl~s had been "pulled" for repairs.
Councilman ~.L'urville, Chairman of the Laws and Auditing
Committee, prese:o.ted, and moved the adoption of, a Resolution
expressing the ~ppreciation of the City Council for the many
public and civic services rendered by the late William Kern.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Bishop and unanimously
carried.

Motion was made by Councilman Turville, seconded by
Councilman Pool and carried that the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized and directed to execute an agreement betvleen the
City of Clermont: and John Boyette and his wife Dorothy Boyette.
A copy of the agreement follows these minutes and is made a
part thereof.
Chief Clerk Johnson reported (1) that the building donated
to the Oi ty by JPred.!olfe and K. O. Finch had been taken down
and the materia1 salvaged, (2) that the street striper, sand
pump and street p~tch roller ha~ been purchased as directed
by the vouncil. Glerk Johnson further reported that he had
contacted a fi~n which manufactures compressed air warning
systems and that he expected to have further information in "
the near future.
Councilman ~urville recommended that the City Council make
every effort, through the proper authority, to have the low
water condition, now existing in this area, corrected.
Motion was made by Councilman Turville, seconded by
Councilman York. and carried that the bills be paid.
Chairman :Boyd stated that inasmuch as he had been widely
critized, prior to the recent city election, for voting against
the adoption of the 1962-63 City of Clermont budget, that the
reason for his negative vote was that the budget ordinance did
not provide for the collection of $25,000.00 or more for Bond
debt service as provided for in ordinance #30. Councilman Boyd
called the vowlcil's attention to Page 2 of the 1961-62 audit
report in further reference to the matter. Councilman Boyd
requested that the representatives of the press, attending the
meeting, quote him.
Motion was made by Councilman Bishop, seconded by
Councilman Pool filld carried, that the meeting adjourn.
