SPECIAL MEETING
A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of
Clermont was held in the City Administration Building on
Thursday - September 13, 1962.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with all
Council members present. Mayor BonJorn, Clerk Johnson and

1962-63 budget. Following the budget discussion, Chairman
Boyd called the Council into a Board of Equafization session.
Mr. Boyd protested the assessed valuation of his property
in Point Place Subdivision, and requested a reduction to be in
line with the assessed valuation of a piece of adjoining pro-
perty owned by L. G. Middleton. Councilman Pool stated that
he favored a general reduction of the Point Place lots valuation,
as Mr. Boyd had 'been paying more taxes than he should have.
Councilman Turville stated that the property appraisers
had already reduced the assessed valuations of Mr. Boyd's pro-
perty in Point Place by about 25%, and that he did not favor
any further reductions.
Councilman York stated that he did not feel qualified to
value property, and that inasmuch as the City Council had engaged
professionals to do the job, he favored accepting their recom-
mendation and that he therefore was not in favor of any further
reduction in assess~d valuation of Mr. Boyd's property.
Councilman Bishop stated that he was of the opinion that
some inequity might exist as to the assessed valuation of Lot 2,
Point Place, but that otherwise he was opposed to any further
reduction in the assessed valuation of the property in question.

that motions could be offered.
